Cycle to the imposing gray cattle, which also do important conservation work in the national park. With a little luck you can also watch the white-tailed eagle hunting on this tour.
In front of the southern part of Lake Neusiedl there is a mosaic of meadows, water and reed areas. In interaction these different habitats are subject to constant change. Depending on precipitation and evaporation, the distribution of dry and wet areas changes from year to year and sometimes even from day to day. Here you can meet ducks and geese as well as spoonbills and herons, but also waders and meadow birds like the wagtail use this habitat. In their search for food, birds of prey - possibly even white-tailed eagles - can also be seen in this sub-area. However, constant management is needed to maintain the diversity of the habitat. Grey cattle and water buffalo play an important role in the grazing.
